My favorite scone recipe calls for buttermilk. One day, after placing a batch of neat triangles in the oven, I turned to face the clean-up. As I glanced at the empty measuring cup, I saw art in the pattern created by the remainder of buttermilk running down the sides. I grabbed my camera and took quite a few pictures to capture the impressions. Buttermilk Sea is the first piece I painted from my inspiration. In Buttermilk Sea, you have to kind of look at the painting side ways to see what I'm talking about, but use your imagination and you will see Buttermilk running down the side of a measuring cup--only blue.
