Sometimes when I'm done painting another piece that features lily pads, I wonder if I'm done with that theme or just getting started. Years ago in a gallery, I saw a beautiful original painting by Claude Monet of lily pads. It wasn't until much later that I learned he painted over 250 paintings on that subject in his lifetime. The original painting of Gilded Lilies is 48"x72". Larger than life. It was painted for the foyer of an equally larger than life master bedroom suite. This painting is a tribute to the concept that lilies and people--sometimes seem to effortlessly float above dark waters.
